2013 Breeders' Cup logoRoyal Delta , who is a multiple GI winner this year and defending Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic winner will prep for that B/C Ladies Classic title defense in Saturday’s $400,000, GI Beldame Stakes for the older gals, at 1 1/8 mile over the Belmont Park main!

Free Past Performances, ← Brisnet

Princess of Sylmar , with 3 GI 3yo filly wins in a row will try her elders here on Saturday as she appears to be the only real challenger to the equally hot 2012 Older Female HOY Royal Delta.

Centring , who finished 3rd and 4th to Royal Delta in her last 2 outs in the GI Del-Cap and GI Personal Ensign does always seem to find a way to get up for a board hit in races like this, recently!

And Why Not , who was a distant 3rd in that same GI Del-Cap 2 back found the off going up at Saratoga not to her liking in the $100k Alada Stakes last out with a distant 5th finish that day! This one too is a cut below this race’s 2 GI winners but could be a good backend tri or super, especially for a dime!

Roman Invader , the wire to wire winner of the $100k Parlo Stakes here on Sept. 19th. She is stepping up in class here big time on Saturday and the quick 1-week turn around probably won’t help either!

Lady Cohiba , rounds out a field of 6 for this Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” challenge is coming in off a wire to wire win in the $150k Glen Falls Stakes up at Saratoga last out on Sept. 2nd over a muddy main that day. She could enhanced a tri or super play at the right price!

2013 Breeders' Cup logoRoyal Delta , picked up right where she left off last month in the GI Del Cap as she let On Fire Baby handle the leaders duties until the first call, then just strolled on by her for a lead that she was never close to surrendering in the $600,000, GI Personal Ensign Stakes, for the older gals, at 1 1/8 mile distance over a fast Saratoga main today up at the old spa!

Authenticity, who vainly tried to chase down this 2012 older Female HOY in the latter stages of this 2-turn test ended up settling for 2nd back 4 1/2 lengths at the line and 1 3/4 length in front of Centring who came late for 3rd in this 5-horse field!

Oh and P.S. , Royal Delta froze out another group of top older females from claiming a free ticket into this year’s Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic with this victory here today!

Royal Delta - taking down today's GI DelCap at Delaware Park
Royal Delta – laying to waste the entire field in the GI DelCap at Delaware Park last out

2013 Breeders' Cup logoRoyal Delta, at 2/5, is the easy, no sweat winner of the GI DelCap last out at Del Park, will actually be cutting back in distance to 1 1/8 mile over the Saratoga main this Sunday in the $600,000, GI Personal Ensign Stakes, for 3yo and up Fillies and Mares.

Free Past Performances,

This contest will also offer the winner a free pass into this year’s Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic again, out at Santa Anita Park on the first Friday in Nov.

Authenticity, at 7/2, returned to her winning form last out here in the GIII Shuvee Stakes over just “good” going in a sluggish 1:52.1. She also won the GII La Troienne at Churchill 3 back and in between she finish 2nd to Tiz Miz Sue in the GI Ogden Philips so she is in top form right now and looks to be the main competition for Royal Delta here this Sunday.

On Fire Baby , at 5/1, is the winner of the GI Apple Blossom at Oaklawn this spring then finished just a “head’ behind Authenticity in the final jump of that same GII La Troienne last out.

She does have good early speed so look her to set the pace here on Sunday than try and hold off Authenticity and Royal Delta for the win.

Open Water, at 20/1, with a mixed bag of dirt, turf and poly starts in graded and non – graded company too offers a graded win on her resume this year but since then has faltered badly in her next 3 starts.

Centring, at 12/1, who was a good 3rd in the GI Ogden Phillips Hcp 2 back at Belmont came a distant 4th to Royal Delta, last out in that same GI Del Cap!

So, just 5 are coming out for maybe the best field of older gals yet assembled against Royal Delta this season in what looks to be a more competitive field for the 2012 Older Female HOY in the GI Personal Ensign Stakes this Sunday at Saratoga!

Royal Delta, the runaway winner of the GI Del-Cap last out appears to have found her best form again, after another unproductive Dubai trip again earlier this year, looks to take on another top field of older ladies in the $500,000, GI Personal Ensign Invitational Stakes, at 1 1/8 mile over the Saratoga dirt this Sunday

Free Past Performances,

Open Water, with a mixed bag of dirt, turf and poly starts in graded and non – graded company too offers a graded win on her resume this year but since then has faltered badly in her next 3 starts.

Flashy American, winner the Iowa Distaff 3 back, then a solid 2nd to Authenticity, 2 back in the GIII Shuvee Hcp over some Saratoga off going and last out was the winner of the $100k Alada Stakes here over some Saratoga slop.

Centring, who was a good 3rd in the GI Ogden Phillips Hcp 2 back at Belmont came a distant 4th to Royal Delta, last out in that same GI Del Cap!

Eblouissante, a half to the great Zenyatta, came 6th in that GIII Shuvee Hcp. last out after 2 step-stepping wins at the lower levels!

On Fire Baby and Authenticity, are still possibles for this 2-turn GI ladies tussle!

So, Royal Delta, again, will get the prohibitive favorites role here on Sunday unless more top older Fillies and Mares come out for this 2-turn ticket into this year’s GI Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic show up in a Saratoga starting gate this Sunday for the GI Personal Ensign Invitational Stakes!
