Grace Hall, who’d been out of racing for a year did grab a late stretch lead before giving way to this winner in the shadow of the line. 3rd went to My Wandy’s Girl , back just a nose with Six Queens, the early front runner holding on to fill out today’s super was back 3½ lengths more at the line!

Fiftyshadesofhay leads 6 into GII Ruffian Hcp. – Post Positions, Picks, M/L Odds, Free Past Performances

Fiftyshadesofhay - winner of today's GII Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico racecourse
Fiftyshadesofhay – comes east this Sunday for the GII Ruffian Hcp. at Belmont Park!

Belmont Park will offer 3 big graded stakes races on its Sunday, Mother’s Day card with the 2nd being the $250,000, GII Ruffian Hcp, for 4yo and up F/M’s, going 1 mile around 1-turn of “big sandy” the Belmont Park main track on Sunday!

Free Past Performances

Just “6” older F/M’s will take to the Belmont main this Sunday in this 1-turn,1- mile tussle!

Fiftyshadesofhay , 2/1, leads the way here as she comes east for team Baffert on Sunday, who in 2013, as a 3yo filly, ran in 8 straight graded events and was never off the board in any of them. 2014 however, has been a different story with a 4th in the GII La Canada Stakes but by just a length off the winner, then last out got hooked up in a front running duel (not her normal running style) in the GI Santa Margarita Stakes to falter to a 6th finish. She’s a stalker/ closer type and as you can see from her last outing is not an early speed type!

My Wandy’s Girl , 7/2, gets our 2nd look for this race with a solid performance in winning the GII Barbara Fichte Hcp at Laurel at 7f’s most recently getting a nice just off the pace trip to grind away for the 1 length win by the line. A lot of buzz was around this one went she arrived here from old San Juan and last time she lived up to the buzz. Likes hanging off the pace early then making her move in the lane!

Grace Hall , 5/2, was the 2012 Kentucky Oaks buzz horse but finished 3rd that year. She ran in all the 3yo fillies races that year to good success. Last year had but a pair of graded outing with the last one being a 7th in the GI Apple Blossom Hcp. at Oaklawn before being sidelined for the season. Makes her first off the bench appearance for 2014 here and has had some decent lead up workouts of late. This should be a good test to see where she stands right now and the mile distance would seem a good test for her right now, too. Lots of racing rust here so use her but don’t solo her anywhere!

Toasting , 8/1, is a nice complement to this field as she has been bouncing around the alw, stakes and graded stakes for sometime now and picking up minor awards to earn her keep! She was 7th last time in the GII Inside Information Stakes at G/P in a listless effort! She can be early trouble or rate or not show at all! She’s something of a crapshoot in your exotics here, so make sure you get a good price on her before adding her to any exotics play!

Parc Monceau , 20/1, has been a semi-successful Oc runner of late was multiple 2nd’s most recently and a win last out in a $67 Oc 1x at a mile in 1:37.7 over the good going that day and winning with a good just off the pace effort! Tends to like it up close early but can rate!

Six Queens , 4/1, breaks out of the Alw ranks here on Sunday with a 3 of 4 record. She clocked a nice 1:15 and chg winning time 2 back at 6 1/2 f so she’s got the goods to be something more as this one’s a stalker/pouncer type!

So, more graded fun here at Belmont Park this Sunday but this time it’s for the seasoned gals in the $250,000, GII Ruffian Hcp.
