If it’s summertime at the Jersey Shore, then the 2013 $500,000, GI United Nations Stakes, going 1 3/8 mile, for the older boys over the Monmouth turf must be just around the corner this Saturday here at the “Shore’s Greatest Stretch“, Monmouth Park.

Free Past Performances,

2013 Breeders' Cup logoGI United Nations Stakes, is the first of North America’s “Win and You’re In” challenge races for a berth in the $3,000,000, GI Breeders’ Cup Turf tilt out at Santa Anita Park again, later this year!

Probables for this year’s running are,

Teaks North, who due to injury could not defend his 2011 GI United Nations Stakes title last year, is back this year and looks to be in good form too!

Willcox Inn, who has found a home on the board in all his 2013 graded turf outings as he came a good 2nd in the GII Dixie Stakes at Pimlico on Preakness Day last out! He’s always a top GI turf runner and always is a threat for a Winner’s Circle visit with just the right trip!

Boisterous, won the GII Monmouth Stakes ( the local United Nations prep race) last out and does already own several other graded stakes titles on his long turf racing resume. He seems to be in tip-top form right now and is always a top name in the older turfing horse conversation!

Little Mike, the front-running 2012 Breeder’s Cup Turf champ is 0 for 2 this season as both loses came over in Dubai this winter. He’ll try to make it back to the winner’s circle visit here at Monmouth Park this Saturday to capture that “Win and You’re In” ticket for a B/C Turf title defense later this year at Santa Anita Park!

The nomination’s sheet for this GI turf thriller is long and just chock full of top older turfing horse flesh. So, we’d look for more top turfing company to toe up to line here in this “Win and You’re In” challenge turf tussle for a B/C Turf gate here at Monmouth Park in Saturday’s GI United Nations Stakes.
