(American Pharoah) - was isolated at the line of the GI Del Mar Futurity Stakes!
(American Pharoah) – was isolated at the line of the GI Del Mar Futurity Stakes last summer, will make his 2015 debut in Saturday’s GII Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park for trainer Bob Baffert!

The 2015 Derby Trail rolls thru Oaklawn Park, this Saturday as they’ll offer up the 2nd in their 3 race Derby Trail Series this year with the $750,000, GII Rebel Stakes (PP’s) that will finally draw out Bob Baffert’s star pupil in the 2014 2yo Male Eclipse award winner in American Pharoah.

But this won’t be an easy first out start for American Pharoah‘s 3yo campaign, as the legendary D. Wayne Lukas is plotting to unleash his 2014, 2yo Filly Eclipse award winner with multiple graded wins in Take Charge Brandi, in this same 2-turn tilt where 50 Derby Points in spoils, will go to the victor.

Other likely 3yo’s coming out for this year’s edition of the GII Rebel Stakes are several top finishers from last month’s GIII Southwest Stakes including, – The Truth Or Else(2nd), Bold Conquest (4th) and Hillbilly Royalty (5th).

Far Right, winner of that same GIII Southwest Stakes here last month looks like he’ll wait on the GI Arkansas Derby here next month for his next start, while Mr. Z, (3rd) in that same Southwest Stakes last time will try his hand next in the GII Louisiana Derby at the Fairgrounds at the end of this month!

Also, on this big Saturday card here at Oaklawn Park are –

The GII Azeri Stakes, (PP’s) where 2014, 3yo filly of the year, Untapable will begin her 2015 season against the likes of Oaklawn’s favorite daughter in Don’t Tell Sophia, plus Flashy American, Sugar Shock, Gold Medal Dancer, and Mufajaah.

While the GIII Razorback Hcp (PP’s) will offer the older boys at 2-turns drawing out the likes of Tapiture and Ride On Curlin along with Carve and a return to racing after a long layoff is the 2014 GI Stephen Foster winner Moonshine Mullin!

So, a big graded card is on tap this Saturday at Oaklawn Park where several 2014 eclipse award winners will get stirred into the race day mix, as the 2015 Derby Trail will be gathering some more stream on the Road to Louisville, Ky, Churchill Downs and the 141th running of the $2,000,000, GI Kentucky Derby, Saturday, May 2nd!
