Fury Kapcori sets sights on 5th straight win in GII Californian Stakes – Post Positions, Picks, M/L Odds, Free Past Performances

Fury Kap
Fury Kapcori – a 4-time winner at Santa Anita Park

Fury Kapcori, is coming in off 4 straight wins here at Santa Anita and will go for a 5th in Saturday’s $200,000, GII Californian Stakes, for 4yo and up, at 1 1/8 mile over the Santa Anita main track!

Free Past Performances,

Fury Kapcori, ran a very nice wire to wire score in the GIII Precisionist Stakes , here last out drawing off to a 5 3/4 lengths win by controlling the pace all the way around that 1 1/16 mile circuit. Likes to be in the early mix so look for him up front early here on Saturday!

Clubhouse Ride, is you’re defending champ from 2013, but since has only picked up minor awards at the stakes and graded levels. He was 4th last time out in the GII Charles Town Classic again finishing behind Game On Dude! Might found a return to this Santa Anita surface the right tonic for a return to top form.

Sky Kingdom , has not raced since a 4th finish in a Del Mar Stakes last August and is sure to have some rust. He won the GIII Toyko City Stakes last year along with a 3rd in the GI Hollywood Gold Cup and a solid 2nd GII Cougar Hcp so this boy has got some graded skills. He can rate or go early!

Handsome Mike , is a multiple graded winner and can go at 6 1/2 f’s to 1 1/8 mile distances over any graded stakes surface, it seems. Not an early pace setter but you never know about this one!

Majestic Harbor , winner of this year’s GIII Toyko City Stakes in an almost wire to wire score, winning by 3 lengths! Ran well in the GII San Pasqual earlier this year coming 2nd and 2 back filled out the super in that oddly run GII San Antonio Stakes! He too, can rate or go early!

Fly Lexis Fly , 3rd by 2 lengths in the GI Eddie Read last where his stretch lead was consumed by the late speed of Jeranimo and Vagabond Shoes! This one’s been inconsistent at the graded level and shows no consistent pattern in the early going of any of his U.S. efforts!

Majestic City , was 3rd last out in that same GIII Precisionist Stakes, and 2 back was 2nd in the GIII Razorback at Oaklawn. In both cases, he was more than 6 lengths off those winners! He was a sprinter earlier in his career but has slowly stretch to 2-turns. He’ll be trying the 1 1/8 mile here for the very first time, however! Not an early speed type and more of a closer for the most part.

Storm Fighter , winner of the $125k Tiznow Stakes here last out, going all the way up front and setting solid factions of 23.1, 46.2, 1:10, winning in the a very nice 1:35 flat by 3 1/4 lengths over the hardscrabble veteran in Rousing Sermen! Loves it up front early so he could by the early pace setter in here!
