Penn National by the Twilight and home to the $500,000 Penn Mile Stakes this Saturday!

This upcoming pre-Belmont Stakes weekend, we’ll travel to central P.A. and Penn National Racecourse for their million dollar day of racing that’ll be capped off by the $500,000, Penn Mile Stakes, for 3yo turfers, at, of course 1-mile over the Penn National turf course!

Free Past Performances,

With the 3yo turf season at Colonial Downs now in some real jeopardy this year, this race could take on added significance in the early 3yo turfing scene here in 2014, as races like the GII Virginia Derby at Colonial Downs may not happen at all this year!

2014 Probables are

Global View, winner of the GII American Turf Stakes at Churchill last out by a neck over,,,,

Storming Inti, winner of the Kitten’s Joy Stakes at G/P this past winter, was 3rd in the GIII Palm Beach, that 4th in the GIII Transylvania Stakes at Keeneland before that tight 2nd finish last out!

Bobby‘s Kitten, who showed so much promise with a good 3rd in last fall’s B/C Juvy Turf tussle. He finished a very poor 12th last out in the GI Bluegrass Stakes after shadowing the early leader that day but then tiring quickly after the 3rd call!

We Miss Artie, and Harry’s Holiday, the 1- 2 finishers in the GIII Spiral Stakes back in March, as both finished well out it in this year’s GI Kentucky Derby last out!

There are still more good top 3yo names left on the nomination’s sheet for the 2nd edition of this 1-mile turfer but, If just these 5 show you’ll have a truly solid core of runner’s for what will surely someday be a GIII or even a GII turfer for 3yo’s and a super start to the 3yo turfing season each year!
