California Chrome, came out of GI Kentucky Derby in fine shape leading his connections to say “It’s on to Baltimore” and the 139th GI Preakness Stakes, on Saturday May 17th, at Pimlico race course where the lure of a newly increased purse of $1.5 million is waiting in this 2nd jewel of the 2014 Triple Crown Series!

All Names but Danza are now confirmed!

Free Past Performances,- Brisnet

Free Past Performances – Equibase

Other 2014 Preakness Probables are, Social Inclusion, Kid Cruz, the Fredico Tesio Stakes winner and GIII Illinois Derby winner Dynamic Impact with Derby scratcher Pablo Del Monte , also looks to be in the Preakness mix this year.

Bayern, the dq’d 2nd in the GIII Derby Trial Stakes seems pointed to a May 17th start here and Ring Weekend, the GII Tampa Bay Derby winner this year is over his spiking fever that knocked him out of the Derby this year is another logical candidate for this 1 3/16 mile journey!

Ride On Curlin is now Preakness bound and gets a jockey switch to Joel Rosario, too!

General A Rod, just jointed this year’s GI Preakness entry group!

The 2013 Breeders Cup juvy fillies winner Ria Antonia looks like she’ll be a starter!

No word yet from Todd Pletcher on Danza‘s (3rd in the Derby)next start!

Pablo Del Monte, 3rd in the GI Blue Grass Stakes was the first to commit to this race!

We’d look for even more Derby runners to commit here shortly as the GI Preakness Stakes offers only 14 gates each season, with 5 gates set aside for the first 5 Derby finishers, so supply is limited!
