Awesome Baby sloppy good in wet GIII Santa Ysabel Stakes – Results and Replay

AwesomeBaby
Awesome Baby – splashing her way to victory in today’s GIII Santa Ysabel Stakes at a soggy Santa Anita Park!

Who says it never rains in Southern California, well apparently Awesome Baby, didn’t mind today’s gloom as she led this scratch laden field of just 5, 3yo fillies all the way around this soggy Santa Anita main track to win today’s $100k, GIII Santa Ysabel Stakes, for the 3yo ladies, at 1 1/16 mile, over a boggy Santa Anita main to win by 2 3/4 slippery lengths

Full Results,

Artemis, was back those 2 3/4 lengths, for 2nd but she was hounding Awesome Baby, all the way around this slopfest but never really catching up. 3rd went to Swiss Lake Yodeler, back 1/2 length more and could never quite make the ground to the 1-2 finishers here, with  Saintly Joan and Be Proud, filling out this 5 filly quintet here today!

So, Awesome Baby, picked up 10 more Kentucky Oaks points for this win as she’ll probable fire next in the GI Santa Anita Oaks here in early April off this win, too!
