Race Cancelled – Weather
Winning Image , who is undefeated at Laurel Park, over her career, will try and close out that career with one more win in Saturday’s, $300,000, GII Barbara Fritchie Hcp., for 3yo and up F/M’s, going 7f’s over the Laurel Park main track!
“10” fast ladies will go to the post in this 7f dust-up here on Saturday on what we hope will be a bright and sunny, but chilly winter’s day!
Winning Image , winner of the $100k What a Summer Stakes here at Laurel last out by 1 3/4 length, going 6f’s in 1:10.1 in a wire to wire score. Early speed here everyone as she’ll try to run another group of lady sprinters here at Laurel off their feet for the win!
My Wandy’s Girl , 2nd in this race last year but was a tired looking 5th last out in the $100k Garland of Roses Stakes at Aqueduct in the mud on Dec 7th. She run very well in some big graded events here in the U.S. but she doesn’t look like the same San Juan flash of a couple of year’s ago right now!
Centrique , who makes her living in south Florida sprints comes in off 2 straight wins, winning the Glass Slipper Stakes at G/P 2 back at 6f’s in 1:10.2, and was a last out winner of a $58.5k Aoc at a mile run in 1:39 over a G/P sloppy track. Both her last outs were stalking / pouncing affairs, too, so look for her to go hunting up the early leader here on Saturday
Villette , winner of the Foxy JG Stakes at Parx 2 back and a wire to wire winner of another Parx $40k 3x Oc last out at 6f over a Jan 14th sloppy surface in 1:10.4. This one’s on a 4 race winning streak and tends to like it up front early, as well!
La Verdad , trained by that “doyenne” of Saratoga backside Linda Rice, comes in with a 5 race winning streak on her resume all in wire to wire scores and all at the Alw level too! More early speed here everyone!
Flattering Bea , 2nd in the $100k Safely Kept Stakes here last out came from way out of it in that one to rally up strongly for the 1 3/4 length lose. She a solid Maryland sprinter winning at the alw and Stakes level. She’ll probably be able to pick up the pieces of a sure fire pace collapse that we see coming in here!
Access to Charlie , winner of the $75k Geisha Stakes here 2 back going a mile in a so/so 1:39.2. She does go 7f’s from time to time with mixed results at a 3-1-0-1 lifetime record for the distance. Another alw and minor stakes specialist who stalks or sits back early. She also might do well if the pace really does fall apart here!
More Than a Cruise , another Maryland career Alw sprinter with a ton of 2nd finish’s. She always seem to close well for a piece in all her races. The connections here are making a nice and quiet living off this one’s consistent abilities to hit the board and maybe you can too with this one at the back-end of a dime super play for 10 cents!
