Revolutionary returns to racing in Gulfstream Saturday Alw dust-up – Post Positions, Picks, M/L Odds, Free Past Performances

Revolutionary - winner of the $1,000,000, GII Louisiana Derby at the Fair Grounds
Revolutionary – winner of the $1,000,000, GII Louisiana Derby at the Fair Grounds last year!

Every once in a “blue moon” we find an Alw race that is truly worthy of a posting as the good folks in the Gulfstream front office have magically conjured up what would be a solid graded stakes level field and somehow got them all to run in Saturday’s Race #2 at Gulfstream Park in  a $54k Aoc, tilt, for the older boys, at a mile over the main track!

Free Past Performances,

Revolutionary, at 7/5, is back after a long injury-induced layoff after finishing a tired looking 5th in the GI Belmont Stakes last spring. You remember this one, winner of the 2013 GII Louisiana Derby and 3rd by just 3 1/4 muddy lengths down on the rail with Mr. Calvin on board in the 2013 GI Kentucky Derby slopfest! If healthy again, he could be a nightmare all season long in the 2014 handicap division!

But he is not the lone graded winner in here,

Honorable Dillon , at 3/1, won fine race over this surface in the GII Hutcheson Stakes here last year, as a 3yo!

Falling Sky , at 5/1, winner of the GIII Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs last year, 3rd in the GII Tampa Bay Derby and 4th in the GI Arkansas Derby last year, as well!

Reveron , at 6/1, is the south florida favor in here who was the 2012 Gulfstream Park Derby winner, 3rd in that year’s GIII Sam F. Davis and had the stretch lead at one time in that Derby trail dust-up. He also ran a great 2nd to Take Charge Indy in that season’s GI Florida Derby, too!

My Adonis, at 8/1, alos was a 2013 derby trail prospect and won the $100k Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth Park last summer.

Silver Menace , also at 8/1, is a Kathy Ritvo (Mucho Macho Man) trained beast who favors the 6f and 7f sprints, finished 4th in a Nov. 6f sprint Alw here behind Aproirity and Travelin Man last out!

Viramundo , at 10/1, rounds out this field of 7 ran a decent 3rd in a Dec. 27th 2x alw tussle here last out! This one started his career down Panama way rolling off 3 straight wins down there before testing the U.S. thoroughbred scene!

So, Revolutionary, comes back to racing again in a very noteworthy Aoc tussle in Race #2 on the Saturday card here at Gulfstream Park!
