Twilight Eclipse – defending his GII W.L. McKnight Hcp title at Calder today!

Twilight Eclipse, lead them gate to wire to sucessfully defend his title in a very strange edition of the $125,000, GII W.L. McKnight Hcp, for 3yo’s and up, at 1 1/2 mile over the Clader main after being moved from off the turf!

Full Results and Replay

This was a very strange edition indeed, as first off, this race was delayed for 25 minutes, then Twilight Eclipse, found himself oddly enough on the early lead (something not in his normal playbook) and that apparently no one else wanted! Then he went on to set very slow factions of :26.3, 53.3, 1:19.1 and 2:10 and chg before squirting away to a 7 length win in the stretch where he got no challenges at all!

2nd, went to Dannhauser, who was dueling Twilight Eclipse, for the lead thru most of this 3-turn, off the turf, marathon before fading in the stretch. 3rd, went to mto entry Flatter This, back 4 3/4 lengths more with the local favor Ducduc, back just a neck more to fill out today’s super!
