Unbridled’s Note is 2/1 favorite for GIII Daytona Stakes – Post Positions, Picks, M/L Odds, Free Past Performances

Unbridle's Note - the slight favorite in Saturday's GIII Daytona Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Unbridle’s Note – the slight favorite in Saturday’s GIII Daytona Stakes at Santa Anita Park

Unbridled’s Note , at 2/1, leads a pack of 7 turf sprinters out onto the Santa Anita turf sprint course this Saturday’s in the $100,000, GIII Daytona Stakes, for 3yo’s and up turf sprinters, at 6 1/2 f’s down that same Santa Anita suicide/hillside turf sprint course!

Free Past Performances,

Unbridled’s Note , comes into this dash for the cash with a wealth of experience over this surface having run twice in the B/C Turf Sprint here in 2012 where he was 2nd to Miz Direction and again in 2013. He was also the 2012 GIII Eddie D Stakes winner over this twisting and turning turfing maze too!

Chips All In , at 5/2, is another top actor over this sloping greenway winning the 6 1/2 f GIII San Simeon here last winter in a sharp 1:11.1. He was a last out 2nd in the $100k, Hollywood Turf Express Hcp over that flat BHP 6f turf surface in a deep stretch lead surrender.

Gallant Son , at 7/2, is a Golden Gate Fields invader who has made a name for himself in top Bay Area turf sprints. Lots and lots of board hits here for this one and he did finish 3rd in an $80k Aoc over this same course back in Jan., so he does offer some experience over this tilted turf course.

At 5/1 are, Ain’t No Other, was a very close 2nd to Private Zone in the Del Mar $90k Pirates Bounty Stakes this past summer and was 2nd again in the Calif Flag Hcp here 2 back. He finished a distant 5th to Gallant Son, on his home turf up at Golden Gate last out so look for a better finish from him here on Saturday over this more familiar turf surface. El Commodore , who has enjoyed good successes at the turf mile distance over his career but will be coming down the hill here for the first time on Saturday, Good Luck there big fella.

Handsome Mike , at 12/1, gets an honorable mention here only because he seems only to run in top graded company over any surface or distance too. His last win however was the GIII Commonwealth at Churchill in the Fall of 2012. Got to hand it to his handlers as they keep putting him in the strangest spots and he keeps coming home with some kind of paycheck for them! Looking for a screwy exotics play, here’s one for you!
