With the 2013 GI Preakness Stakes less than 2 weeks away now, the current buzz is that Orb, will take on several of his Derby rivals again in the May 18th, 1 3/16 mile, 3yo event in the likes of Itsmyluckyday and Goldencents as both finished well back in the Derby second tier this past Saturday.

D. Wayne Lukas looks to be returning his prime 3yo duo of Oxbow and Will Take Charge for another try at the Derby champ along with Mylute who finished a tight 5th in the Derby with Rosie Napravnik on board seems a real possibility too!

“Updated” on 05/13/13 you can subtract Normandy Invasion and Vyjack from this year’s list of probable Preakness starters, as both are bypassing Saturday’s big race!

Meanwhile, none of the “Todd Squad” appears headed for Baltimore on May 18th, so Revolutionary (3rd), Charming Kitten (9th),Overanalyze (11th), Palace Malice (12th), and Verrazano (14th) we all be watching this year’s GI Preakness Stakes from the comfort of home!

Golden Soul, (2nd), looks to be skipping this second leg of the 2013 Triple Crown chase too for a more probable GI Belmont Stakes run next month!

Some new shooters looking to help fill out all 14 Preakness gates this year are, GIII Illinois Derby winner Departing and Heat Press, second in Pimlico’s Preakness prep the Federico Tesio Stakes.

GIII Sunland Derby winner Govenor Charlie, looks to be in the early Preakness mix too!

DRF says, “that the Maryland Jockey Club officials reported via Twitter that trainer D. Wayne Lukas has informed them of his intention to run Titletown Five in the Preakness, along with his other two colts already confirmed, Oxbow and Will Take Charge”!

Jay Privman from DRF tweets Street Spice is now out of next Saturday’s Preakness Stakes!
